Store-bought buttercream frosting hacks

It can be a real challenge for us parents trying to constantly come up with different dinner ideas each night, especially during busy or chaotic weeks. It can almost become a daunting task even. Even for parents like me, who love to cook and bake satisfying meals to keep my family happy and full, eventually, you start running out of steam.

For times like this, I like to keep a few quick and simple side dish recipes on hand, like my easy method on How to Steam Asparagus in just 5 minutes! That’s right, one of the most satisfying and healthy green veggies can be ready to devour in just 5 minutes!

My simple steaming method only requires a handful of cookware to throw together and just 2 ingredients. Basically, all you need is a few kitchen utensils and a steamer pot, or you can just use a large pot with whatever steamer you have on hand. Ready to get dinner on the table in just minutes? Here’s how to perfectly steam asparagus in 5 minutes.

To easily steam asparagus, all you need is: fresh asparagus, water, a steam pot, a cutting board, and a good kitchen knife. First, cut off 1.5 inches of the asparagus ends. Then, bring the water to a boil in the steam pot. Then, place the steamer insert inside the pot and place the asparagus on top. Cover with the lid and steam the asparagus on medium heat for 5 minutes. Check to make sure they are still slightly crispy, and not soggy. Finally, transfer to a plate and serve with fresh lemon wedges, seasonings, or hollandaise sauce!
