    Yes! You can cook scrumptious shrimp in just about 5 minutes simply using the microwave! This simple method has been such a huge relief on nights when I need to whip up dinner in like no time or when I don’t have the energy to spend half my night in the kitchen.

    This is also a great way to add healthier snacks to your day or to give yourself some more quick lunch options! All you need is some typical microwave utensils, shrimp, and some simple seasonings and you’re good to go. Ready to try it out? Here’s my easy method of How to Cook Shrimp in the Microwave!

    To cook shrimp in the microwave, all you need is: defrosted shrimp, olive oil, salt, pepper, lemon juice, parsley, a glass bowl, and paper towels. First, add the shrimp to a large glass bowl, add the salt, pepper, and oil, and toss to mix the ingredients. Lightly cover the bowl with a paper towel and cook the shrimp in the microwave for 4-5 minutes at 70% power. Carefully remove the hot bowl from the microwave and garnish with lemon juice and parsley. Toss to mix everything together, serve, and enjoy!

    • 8 oz shrimp
    • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp Ground Pepper

    Garnishes:

    • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
    • parsley, chopped

    Now let me break this process down for you real quick so you can have a meal ready in no time! With my short and simple method you can have a healthy protein ready in just about 5 minutes! Here’s my easy and quick method for cooking shrimp in the microwave:

    1. First, measure out the shrimp and seasonings with the measuring spoons. 
    2. Then, transfer the shrimp to a large glass mixing bowl.
    3. Next, add in the olive oil, salt, and pepper to the shrimp and toss to mix.
    4. Lightly cover the bowl with a paper towel and transfer the bowl to the microwave.
    5. Cook the shrimp in the microwave for 4-5 minutes at 70% power.
    6. Carefully remove the hot bowl from the microwave and garnish the shrimp with lemon juice and chopped parsley.
    7. Toss the shrimp to mix in the parsley well.
    8. Finally, serve and enjoy!

    Storing Cooked Shrimp

    To store cooked shrimp: transfer the shrimp to a shallow airtight container, or wrap them tightly with kitchen foil or plastic wrap. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Always label the date on the outside of the container to keep up with freshness.
