When it comes to making Christmas treats and pastries, I think it’s super important to use classic holiday flavors to really encompass the feeling of Christmas. So when it came time for me to make an enticing holiday treat I easily decided on making an Eggnog Bundt Cake topped with some easy and delectable eggnog glaze!

I love to go all out with my pastry flavors and themes so I absolutely loved how my eggnog Christmas cake turned out! But if that sounds like too much eggnog flavor for you, and you’d rather just have a lighter eggnog flavor to pair with another complementary flavor, then I have a sweet solution for you!

My easy Eggnog Glaze for Bundt Cakes and other pastries is the perfect way to add in some of the magical Christmas flavors of eggnog, but without it taking over the whole treat. Pair this easy eggnog glaze with a cake or cookie of any flavor you choose for the perfect Christmas treat for you! Here’s how to do it.

To make an easy eggnog cake glaze, all you need is: powdered sugar, eggnog, vanilla or eggnog extract, a blending whisk, and a mixing bowl. Just combine all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix them together with the whisk until creamy and smooth. Drizzle over cooled, baked pastry and enjoy!

    Glaze Equipment

First, let me go over the simple mixing equipment I use to make this delectable Christmas cake glaze. I don’t need much at all for this simple little recipe, just a few common baking utensils. Here are the tools I use to make my easy eggnog cake glaze:

    • Measuring Cup
    • Measuring spoons
    • Glass mixing bowl
    • Blending whisk

Now let me break down my delightfully short and simple ingredient list. I don’t need much here at all either. In fact, I only need 3 ingredients to whip up this yummy glaze! Here are the ingredients I use to make this easy eggnog glaze:

    • 2 cups powdered sugar
    • 4 tbsp eggnog
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract or eggnog extract

How to Make an Easy Eggnog Glaze for Bundt Cakes

Now let’s move on to making the magic happen, the Christmas magic that is! This holiday cake glaze process is super quick and easy to follow along with so let’s jump right into it. Here’s how I make easy eggnog glaze for bundt cakes and other pastries:

    1. First, measure out the eggnog glaze ingredients with the measuring cup and spoons.
    2. Then, pour the powdered sugar into a large glass mixing bowl.
    3. Add in the eggnog and extract.
    4. Combine all of the ingredients together with a blending whisk.
    5. Mix until completely smooth and creamy.
    6. Finally, carefully drizzle the eggnog glaze over the entire bundt cake, serve, and enjoy!

    Glaze Tips

    •  Before drizzling the cake with the glaze, slide a sheet of parchment paper underneath the cooling rack to collect any spills or messes while drizzling. This makes cleaning up so much easier!
    • Cakes and pastries need to be completely cool before pouring glaze on them. If you try to glaze pastries that are still warm the glaze will not stick, it will only slide off the pastry.
    • If you need to thicken the glaze just add a little more powdered sugar until it reaches the desired consistency.
    • To thin the glaze, just add a little bit more eggnog or milk.
