How to Cook Shrimp in Microwave

Bratwurst is one of my go-to meals when I need something hearty, delicious, and incredibly easy to make.

I love the smoky, savory flavor of a perfectly cooked brat, but let’s be honest—not everyone has a grill. Even when I do, sometimes I just don’t feel like firing it up. That’s why this oven-baked bratwurst method is my absolute favorite—it’s quick, mess-free, and delivers juicy, flavorful brats every single time.

Not everyone has an outdoor grill, and even if you do, sometimes you just don’t want to deal with the hassle of setting it up, especially in bad weather. That’s why I love this oven-baked bratwurst method—it gives you that same juicy, flavorful result without needing a grill.

Whether it’s a casual lunch, a quick dinner, or game-day food, oven-baked bratwurst always delivers. No need to fire up the grill—just a baking sheet, some parchment paper, and you’re on your way to juicy, flavorful brats in under 25 minutes!

I love how convenient this method is.

Whether it’s raining, snowing, or I just don’t feel like dealing with charcoal or propane, this recipe lets me enjoy bratwurst anytime, straight from my oven. Plus, cleanup is a breeze—just toss the parchment paper and you’re done!

It’s also a great option if you live in an apartment or a place where grilling isn’t an option. That’s when baking brats in the oven comes to the rescue. The result? Perfectly browned, juicy bratwursts with minimal effort and easy cleanup.

If you enjoy easy weeknight dinners or need a fuss-free way to cook bratwurst, this is the recipe for you.

    Why I Love This Recipe

    • Fast & Easy – Ready in just 22 minutes with minimal prep.
    • No Grill Required – Get the same juicy, flavorful results straight from the oven.
    • Perfect for Any Occasion – Great for lunch, dinner, or a party platter.
    • Easy Cleanup – Using parchment paper makes cleanup a breeze.

    Equipment I Use & Why It’s Important

    • Baking Sheet – A sturdy baking sheet ensures the bratwurst cook evenly and develop a nice sear without burning. It also helps retain heat, cooking the brats to juicy perfection.
    • Parchment Paper Sheets – Lining the baking sheet with parchment paper prevents the bratwurst from sticking, making cleanup effortless. Plus, it helps evenly distribute heat, so the brats cook perfectly on all sides.

    How I Make It

    Step 1: Preheat the Oven

    1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C).

Step 2: Prep the Baking Sheet

    1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper sheets to prevent sticking.
    2. Place the bratwursts on the sheet, ensuring there’s space between each one for even cooking.

    Step 3: Bake the Brats

    1. Bake for 10 minutes, then flip the bratwursts using tongs.
    2. Bake for another 10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.

    Step 4: Rest & Serve

    1. Remove the brats from the oven and cover them with foil.
    2. Let them rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.

    • Reheating Instructions:
      • Oven: Warm at 350°F for 5-7 minutes.

Additional Tips for Perfect Oven-Baked Brats

    • Don’t Overcrowd the Baking Sheet – Give the bratwursts space to cook evenly and develop a nice sear.
    • Use a Meat Thermometer – Brats should reach an internal temperature of 160°F for perfect doneness.
    • Try Broiling for Extra Crispiness – If you like a crispier exterior, broil the brats for 2-3 minutes at the end of baking.
    • Add Beer for More Flavor – Place a shallow dish of beer under the baking sheet while cooking to enhance the flavor.
    • Experiment with Seasonings – Sprinkle brats with garlic powder, smoked paprika, or black pepper before baking for extra flavor.
