Even if you’ve boiled eggs 100 times, it can still be a really tricky process. Both cooking the eggs to the perfect consistency, and cooking them in a way where the shells will peel off easily without damaging the eggs is a hard balance to achieve.
That’s where color-changing egg timers really come in handy! They take away a ton of the guesswork when it comes to how long is the perfect amount of time to achieve both egg goals. If used correctly, the egg timer will let you know when the eggs have reached the soft, medium, or hard-boiled stage. No loud buzzers included!
This process is totally hassle-free so you can look forward to an egg-citing snack time in just a few minutes. Here is How to Boil Eggs with an Egg Timer!
To boil eggs with an egg timer, all you need is: some eggs, ice water, a cooking pot, an egg timer, and a large bowl. First, fill the large bowl with a lot of ice. Then, place an egg timer in the middle of the cooking pot and gently place the eggs around it. Pour enough water over the eggs to cover them by at least 1 inch. Bring the eggs to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, lower the heat to medium and let the eggs cook until the timer color indicates the desired yolk consistency has been reached. Then, immediately transfer the boiled eggs to the ice bath and let them cool for 10 minutes. Slice, serve, and enjoy!

- Gently place the eggs in the pot surrounding the timer.
- Then, pour enough water into the pot to completely cover the eggs by at least 1 inch.

How to Store Boiled Eggs
To store boiled eggs: transfer the eggs to an airtight container lined with a damp paper towel. Cover the eggs with another damp paper towel and close the lid. Store these boiled eggs in the fridge for 3-4 days. Label the date on the outside of the container to keep up with freshness.
