To make the easiest vanilla cake glaze, all you need is a tub of vanilla buttercream frosting, a candy melt pot, and a heat-resistant spatula. All you have to do is transfer the frosting to the melting pot and melt completely while stirring with a spatula. Drizzle the glaze over the entire cooled bundt cake. Let the glazed cake cool completely.
Easy Glazing Equipment and Ingredients
For this satisfyingly easy glaze recipe, you will only need 2 kitchen tools and 1 ingredient! I specifically list a candy melt pot because it perfectly heats up frostings, candies, and chocolates without ever burning or leaving candy chunks behind. Plus it’s super easy to clean. Whipping Up an Easy Vanilla Cake Glaze
Now let’s get to breaking down the steps so you can be on your way to quickly and deliciously glazing your homemade sweet treat. Remember, bundt cakes need to be completely cool before pouring the glaze on them. If you try to glaze pastries that are still warm the glaze will not stick, it will only slide off.
- First, transfer the entire tub of vanilla buttercream frosting to the candy melting pot.
- Then, heat up the frosting while continuously stirring with a heat-resistant spatula. Continue to cook until a thin, drizzling consistency is reached.
- Once your bundt cake is completely cool, it’s time to start glazing and decorating. Transfer the bundt cake to a cake stand.
- Finally, drizzle the melted vanilla glave over the entire cake. Let the glazed bundt cake cool completely, about 2 hours, before serving.
Bundt Cake Tips
- I prefer using my Round Cooling Grid for cooling my bundt cakes as it is the perfect shape and size!
- Disposable Vinyl Gloves really come in handy if you want to save your hands from constant washing and messy food.
- To easily remove a bundt cake from a bundt cake pan, just coat the entire inside of the pan with vegetable shortening then lightly coat with flour. Shake out excess flour before adding batter.
Storing Leftover Vanilla Cake Glaze
Once you let your vanilla glaze set completely on the bundt cake or other baked goods, the glaze will stay good for the life of the pastry that it is used on. However, the cake glaze needs to be stored in the refrigerator if it is on its own.
- Pour any leftover glaze into an airtight container to keep it from drying out and then transfer it to the refrigerator.
- Refrigerated vanilla cake glaze will stay good for up to 1 week.
- Before using the glaze again, remove it from the refrigerator and bring it to room temperature. To get a thin consistency again, the glaze may need to be reheated.
