You know that feeling you get when you try something at a restaurant and the moment you take that first bite you know you just have to get your hands on their secret recipe? That’s exactly what happened to me when I tried one of those Papa Murphy’s sweet pizzas for the first time!

That sweet and cinnamon-y filling over the crisp pizza crust with the gooey, cream cheese glaze on top, talk about to die for! After trying this delectable sweet pizza, I immediately wanted to get the recipe or figure out the perfect copycat recipe so I could make this treat myself whenever my family or I wanted it. And that’s exactly what I did!

Since I’m extremely familiar with baking already, I had a pretty good idea of what the sweet pizza consisted of. With the help of a little extra research, just to be sure, I did it! I conjured up the perfect copycat recipe for Papa Murphy’s Mini Sweet Pizzas! And let me tell you, these mouth-watering dessert pizzas turned out absolutely heavenly and have quickly become a household favorite for my entire family!

This recipe can be made as 1 medium-sized pizza for family night, or 2 small pizzas, perfect for a sweet and simple dessert for 2. These sweet pizzas are perfect to make for family movie/game nights, Valentine’s dessert for 2, date night desserts, anniversaries, small family celebrations, or just for anytime enjoyment!

Overall this recipe is pretty simple to make, especially if you’re a consistent baker like myself. It can be a little time-consuming though, so just keep that in mind when you go to try this recipe out for yourself. Here’s how I make Copycat Papa Murphy’s Mini Sweet Pizzas!

    Simply Sweet Ingredients

Now let me break down the sweet and scrumptious ingredients for these mini sweet pizzas. It may seem like a lot at first glance, but it’s really not much when you break it down by the pizza layers. How to Make Copycat Papa Murphy’s Mini Sweet Pizzas

Now let’s get down to the real business at hand here, making these delectably sweet treats! It will take some time for the recipe as a whole to make since my recipe is made with homemade pizza dough, so there is some rise time to account for. After the dough, the rest of the recipe goes pretty quickly though. Just keep that in mind when you go to make these mini pizzas.

    Recipe Tips:

    • This recipe makes 2 small 6-inch pizzas or a single 10 inch pizza.
    • This recipe calls for softened butter and cream cheese. If you forgot to set them out in time and need a quick-fix, then here is How to Soften Butter quickly.

    Pizza dough

    1. First, gather up and measure out all of the pizza dough ingredients using the measuring cups and spoons.
    2. Then, in a glass mixing bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar.
    3. Using a blending whisk, whisk the ingredients together until well combined.
    4. Then, cover the bowl with plastic wrap, or a disposable shower cap, and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
    5. Next, transfer the yeast mixture to the bowl of a standing mixer fitted with a dough hook.
    6. Then, add in the olive oil, flour, and salt. Mix the dough starting on low speed, then move up to medium speed.
    7. Continue mixing until a big dough ball has formed.
    8. Next, spray another large glass bowl with some cooking oil and place the pizza dough ball in there.
    9. Cover the glass bowl with plastic wrap or a disposable shower cap, then cover again with a kitchen towel to hold in the warmth. Place the dough bowl on a heat pad, or in the warmest spot of your house.
    10. Then, let the dough rise for 1 hour.
      1. While the dough is rising, this is the perfect time to let your butter and cream cheese sit out at room temperature to soften up for the next recipe phases.
    11. The pizza dough should double in size while rising. When it’s ready, go ahead and line a baking sheet or 2 with some sheets of parchment paper.
    12. Next, use a dough cutter to divide the dough into 2 even balls. Skip this step if you want to make a single 10 inch pizza.
    13. Then, roll each dough ball out flat until it’s about ¼ inch thick.
    14. Lastly, transfer the flattened pizza dough to the parchment-lined baking sheet.

    Cinnamon spread

    1. First, measure out all the yummy cinnamon spread ingredients and preheat the oven to 400°F.
    2. Then, in a large bowl, combine the room temperature butter, rolled oats, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon together.
    3. Mix and mash the ingredients together.
    4. Continue mixing until all the cinnamon spread ingredients are completely combined.
    5. Next, sprinkle and spread the yummy cinnamon spread over the pizza dough.
    6. Bake the sweet pizzas for 9-11 minutes.
      1. By now, your whole house should be smelling like sweet and cinnamon-y heaven!

    Cream cheese glaze

    1. First, measure out and prepare all of the cream cheese glaze ingredients.
    2. Next, in a medium-size mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and cream cheese.
      1. I like to cut my butter and cream cheese into pieces before softening so they soften quicker and are easier to mix together at this point.
    3. Then, use the hand mixer on medium speed to mix the softened ingredients together completely.
    4. Add in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
    5. Continue mixing until all ingredients are well combined.
    6. Then, transfer the glaze mixture to a silicone cup and either microwave the mixture for 30 seconds, or mix in some milk to make the glaze runny enough to easily drizzle it over the pizzas.
    7. Finally, drizzle the yummy cream cheese glaze over the freshly baked sweet cinnamon pizzas and enjoy!

    Storage Tip:

For the best quality, it’s best to enjoy these sweet pizzas right away instead of trying to store them and reheat them later on.
