Broccoli is one of the most delicious and versatile vegetables out there! It can be served as a steamed side, in a scrumptious pasta or rice dish, or served uncooked on a healthy veggie charcuterie board. However you want to serve broccoli, it’s sure to be delicious and packed full of healthy benefits!

When it comes to cooking steamed broccoli, there is a little bit of a trick to it so that you end up with perfectly cooked broccoli instead of limp, soggy broccoli mush. The trick is to use a steamer basket and to only cook the broccoli for a few minutes.

To help make sure you end up with perfectly cooked broccoli every time I’m breaking my simple process down for you step-by-step. Here’s How to Steam Broccoli quickly, easily, and perfectly every time!

To easily steam broccoli, all you need is: broccoli, water, a cutting board, steamer basket, and a cooking pot. First, cut the broccoli into medium size florets. Then, measure and pour the water into a cooking pot, cover with a lid, and bring to a boil. Once boiling, place a steamer basket in the pot above the water. Place the broccoli in the basket, cover with lid, and steam for 6-7 minutes. Broccoli should turn bright green and still have a bit of crunchiness. Finally, carefully remove the steamer basket and transfer the broccoli to a serving dish. Serve and enjoy!
