- Piping tips size 4. The piping tip is attached to the end of the piping bag. A size 4 tip is small enough to pierce the cake without causing it to crumble, but large enough to allow the caramel filling to flow through.
- Sifter A sifter is a crucial tool in baking that helps remove any clumps from the flour and other dry ingredients. In the context of this gingerbread bundt cake, a sifter is used to evenly distribute dry ingredients into the batter, ensuring a smooth, lump-free mixture. - ½ cup brown sugar Similarly, replace with 1/2 cup of coconut sugar.
- 3 eggs For a vegan alternative, use 3 tablespoons of ground flax seeds mixed with 9 tablespoons of water (1 tablespoon flax + 3 tablespoons water = 1 egg).
- ½ cup Molasses While molasses is generally healthy, you can opt for honey or pure maple syrup for a different flavor profile.

- 1 egg Use 1 tablespoon of flax seeds mixed with 3 tablespoons of water.
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour Substitute with 2 tablespoons of whole wheat flour or almond flour.
Bundt cake greasing
- 1 tbsp Vegetable shortening Replace with 1 tablespoon of coconut oil.
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder This is a healthy ingredient and can stay as is.
Frosting & Garnish
- ½ cup Vanilla buttercream frosting room temperature. Use a healthier alternative like a Greek yogurt frosting (made with Greek yogurt, honey, and vanilla extract).
- ½ tsp Cornstarch This is a standard baking ingredient and does not need substitution.
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar Opt for a dusting of Stevia powder instead.

- Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients that are in the large bowl.
- Continue to mix until the batter is smooth.
Preparing the Caramel Filling
- Measure and prepare all ingredients for the caramel filling.
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the caramel and egg.
- Whisk these ingredients together using a hand whisk. Add flour into the mixture.
- Whisk the ingredients together once more.
Bundt cake greasing
- Prepare and measure ingredients for greasing the bundt cake.
- Put on disposable gloves and grease the bundt cake pan with vegetable shortening, ensuring all parts are greased.
- Gently transfer cocoa powder into a sifter.
- Lightly cover the bundt cake pan with cocoa powder.
- Flip the bundt pan and gently tap to shake off extra cocoa.
- Your bundt cake is now ready for baking.
Assembling the Gingerbread Bundt Cake with Caramel Filling
- Prepare the cake batter, caramel filling, and greased bundt cake pan.
- Fill the bundt cake pan with half of the cake mixture.

- Transfer the frosting from the can into a mixing bowl.
- Whip the frosting with a hand electric mixer.
- Prepare a piping bag and small round piping tip.
- Transfer the frosting into the piping bag.
- Measure and prepare ingredients for sugar dusting.
- Place powdered sugar and cornstarch into a small mixing bowl.
Decorating bundt cake
- Pipe snowflakes onto the bundt cake with the buttercream.
- Gently place the sugar dusting into a small sifter and sift evenly over the bundt cake.
- Transfer the bundt cake to a serving plate or cake stand using a cake lifter.
