One of my favorite things about baking Bundt cakes is how creative I can get with them. From glazes and frostings to colorful toppings, there are endless ways to dress them up. But when I really want to take a Bundt cake to the next level, I add a luscious filling! This cream cheese filling is my go-to because it’s simple, smooth, and adds that bakery-style touch that always impresses. I especially love using it in recipes like my Red Velvet Bundt Cake with Chocolate Hearts or pairing it with seasonal flavors like Pumpkin Bundt Cake or Chocolate Ginger Sugar Cookies.

- Quick and easy: Comes together in just 5 minutes with simple ingredients.

Tools That Make It Easier
- Measuring cups & spoons: For accuracy in baking.
- Glass mixing bowl: Sturdy and easy to clean.
- Hand mixer: Makes the filling perfectly smooth in seconds.
What You’ll Need From Your Pantry
- 8 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
- 1 egg
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Before You Start: My Quick Tip
- Soften the cream cheese: Let it sit at room temperature before mixing for a smoother filling.
- Don’t overbeat: Mix just until creamy; too much air can make the filling puff up during baking.
- Flavor twists: Add lemon zest for citrus cakes, or a spoonful of cocoa powder for chocolate cakes.
- Pairings I love: This filling is perfect inside my Chocolate Bundt Cake with Ganache Glaze or with a drizzle of Caramel Glaze on top.

Thank you for posting this recipe! Wanted to give my bundt cake a little kick... a filling, I thought, but couldn't think of how to make it. I wanted it with cream cheese & easy. I internet searched & came across several "cake fillings" but yours specifically said, " Bundt Cake Filling w/ Cream Cheese! " It was a cinch to throw together; I even added 2 extra eggs white beaten to almost a merengue, & it nearly doubled the cake, & was super delicious! That cream filling really made a huge difference. Be sure to use a larger Bundt pan... you'll need it! Next one, I'll only add extra egg white beaten, as I had extra filling left over. Froze it for my next cake!

I'm hoping to use this for carrot cake cupcakes for a family event. Does this filling need to be cooked in the cupcakes or can it be added to them after they're cooked? It sounds delicious! Thank you!
Arina says
That sounds like a delicious idea! You can definitely add the cream cheese filling after the cupcakes are baked—just hollow out a little space in the center of each cupcake and fill it with the creamy goodness. If you prefer, you can also bake the filling inside the cupcakes for a gooey surprise in every bite. Either way, I’m sure they’ll be a hit at your family event! Enjoy! 😊🧁

Can I add finally chopped dehydrated strawberries to this?
Arina Habich says
Hi Susan! Yes, you can definitely add finely chopped dehydrated strawberries to the filling—they’ll give a nice fruity pop of flavor without adding extra moisture. Just make sure they’re chopped small so they blend in well. I think that would be a delicious twist!
