One of the best parts about the autumn season, hands down, is all of the delicious apple recipes that come along with the season. Everything from freshly baked apple pies to scrumptious Apple Oatmeal Cookies, those cinnamon and apple recipes are always the perfect comfort foods! One of my favorite apple recipes to break in the season with is this one for swoon-worthy, homemade Apple Butter.

This is one autumn apple delicacy that most people don’t even think about making at home. Let me tell you though, you are absolutely missing out if you don’t at least give this recipe a try! Apple butter is delectable on everything from biscuits, waffles, and toast, to cakes, cupcakes, and even featured on tasteful charcuterie boards. It can even be used on meats to add a little bit of autumn flavor to any meal.

Not only is this apple butter a must-have to keep on hand in my house throughout the whole season, but jars of this tasty treat make the perfect homemade gifts! It’s super easy to whip up a batch, pour it into several jars, add some cute homemade tags, and voila! The perfect homemade Christmas or holiday presents for multiple friends and family!

    Easy Apple Butter Equipment

For this easy apple butter recipe, I only need the help of 3 kitchen tools. Now, to make this process go much faster I use a pressure cooker instead of a slow cooker, which is a common method for making apple butter. However, the slow cooker method takes most of the day so this quick method is perfect when I need a batch fast! Here’s what I use to make quick apple butter:

    • Apple Corer
    • 8 qt Pressure cooker
    • Blender

    Enticing Apple Butter Ingredients

Now let me go over the simple and sweet ingredients that I use for this scrumptious apple butter. There’s nothing complicated to worry about, just grab some apples and spices! Here are the ingredients I use to make enticing apple butter:

    • 4 Lbs apples – cored and cubed
    • 1 Cup apple cider vinegar
    • 2 Cups water
    • 4 Cups sugar
    • ¼ Tsp salt
    • 2 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
    • ½ Tsp Ground Cloves
    • ½ Tsp Ground Allspice
    • 1 lemon – juiced

How to Make Easy Apple Butter in a Pressure Cooker

Now, let’s get down to the apple butter business! This recipe process is super easy and quick so it’s perfect for pros and beginners alike. The hardest part of this whole recipe is preparing the apples and the rest is a piece of cake! Here’s how I make quick and easy apple butter:

    1. First, prepare the apples and measure out all of the apple butter ingredients.
      1. I like to use this trusty apple corer to make this step way easier!
    2. Next, slice and chop the apples into small pieces and pour them into the bottom of a pressure cooker.
    3. In a separate bowl, mix the sugar, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, salt, and cloves until combined, then pour the sugar mixture over the apples and stir to coat.
    4. Then, add in the apple cider vinegar, water, lemon juice, and vanilla extract and mix again.
    5. Make sure the rubber seal is in place inside the pressure cooker lid, then close and secure the lid to the locked position. Check to make sure the vent is turned to SEAL.
    6. Set the timer manually for 12 minutes and begin cooking.
    7. When the timer is finished, let the pressure in the pot release naturally for about 15 minutes. Afterward, turn the dial to the VENT position and let any remaining steam release.
    8. Next, let the apple butter cool slightly, then transfer to a blender and blend in small batches until the desired consistency is reached.
      1. If you happen to have an immersion blender you can use it instead for this step to make it easier.
    9. Finally, serve fresh apple butter or spoon into jars or other airtight containers for storage.
