How to make perfect raspberry buttercream frosting using fresh raspberries!

That was my thought process when it came to whipping up this fresh Raspberry Buttercream Frosting.
Let me tell you, this fresh raspberry frosting turned out to be a perfect match for my moist chocolate cupcakes! I just fell in love with my first batch of Raspberry Chocolate Cupcakes and they immediately made their way onto my favorites list.
But this fresh raspberry frosting isn’t just for chocolate. It’s the perfect pep up to vanilla cupcakes too! It’s impossible to have bland cupcakes with such a fresh and flavorful frosting! And the best part? It’s super easy to make and only takes a few minutes! Here’s how to do it.
To make fresh raspberry frosting, all you need is: fresh raspberries, butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, a mixer, and some pastry piping materials. First, puree the raspberries and set them aside. Then, blend the butter and cream cheese together. Slowly mix in the powdered sugar. Next, mix in the raspberry puree and vanilla extract, and combine all ingredients until completely combined. Transfer to a piping bag and decorate!

Now let me break down my short, sweet, and simple frosting ingredient list. I just need 5 yummy ingredients and I’m good to go! These are the ingredients I use for fresh raspberry frosting:
- 1 Cup Fresh Raspberries
- ½ Cup Butter – room temperature
- 4 oz Cream Cheese – room temperature
- 4 Cups Powdered Sugar
- ¼ tsp Vanilla extract
How to Make Fresh Raspberry Buttercream Frosting
Now let’s whip up some fabulous frosting! My homemade frosting process is super easy and quick to do so it’s perfect even in a time crunch! Here’s how I make easy and fresh raspberry buttercream frosting:
- First, measure out all of the fresh frosting ingredients with the measuring cup and spoons.
- Next, puree the fresh raspberries in a food processor, or blender, and set aside.
- Then, in a large mixing bowl of a KitchenAid Mixer, combine the butter and cream cheese together.
- Beat the ingredients together until smooth.
- Next, ⅓ at a time, add in the powdered sugar while continuously beating the mixture.
- Then, pour in the raspberry puree, vanilla extract, and beat the mixture until completely combined. The frosting should form stiff peaks.
- When it’s ready, use a silicone spatula to transfer the frosting into a pastry bag lined with a metal piping tip and tie off the bag with a pastry bag tie.
- Pipe the fresh raspberry buttercream frosting on top of your homemade cupcakes.
- Serve and enjoy!
How to Store Frosting Made with Fresh Fruit
Since this ravishing raspberry frosting is made with fresh fruit, it does not stay good as long as usual.
To store fresh raspberry frosting: transfer the frosting to a plastic storage bag, label the date on the outside of the bag, and store it in the fridge for up to 1 week.
