That’s right, coleslaw doesn’t have to be one of those rare dishes that can only be enjoyed with a barbeque take-out order! My simple coleslaw recipe is incredibly easy to make right in your own kitchen and only requires a handful of tools and simple ingredients. Not only is this recipe perfect for a quick side dish on a busy weeknight, but it’s also a fantastic dish for me to serve for my family and friends that are vegetarian!

To make easy homemade coleslaw, all you need is: a package of coleslaw mix, mayonnaise, salt, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, some mixing bowls, a whisk, and a spatula. Just whisk together the mayonnaise, salt, vinegar, and brown sugar in a mixing bowl. Then, pour the dressing over the coleslaw mix in a separate large bowl. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.

- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp brown sugar – packed
How to Make Easy and Quick Coleslaw
Now I’ll go over my super quick and easy process for making a batch of yummy coleslaw in a hurry! This simple method has turned out to be fool-proof for me, so I’m excited to share how I make it happen:
- First, in a medium-size mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, vinegar, brown sugar, and salt with a blending whisk until completely mixed.
- Then, pour the dressing over the coleslaw mix in a large mixing bowl, and mix well with a spatula.
- Finally, cover the bowl and refrigerate the coleslaw for 30 minutes before serving.
Safely Storing Coleslaw
To store homemade coleslaw: transfer the coleslaw to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days. Label the date on the outside of the container to keep up with freshness.
