To make an easy homemade toffee glaze, all you need is butter, heavy cream, brown sugar, a saucepan, and a whisk. Just combine all of the ingredients in the saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Then, drop the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 15-20 minutes while whisking. Once the sugar has melted and the right thickness has been reached, remove the pan from the heat and let the glaze cool before drizzling.

Now let’s get to the sticky business at hand. This easy toffee glaze process is incredibly simple to follow and, if done properly, turns out incredibly dreamy! So, roll up your chef sleeves and grab your cooking utensils, because here is how to make your own toffee cake glaze:
- First, measure out all of the ingredients and get a saucepan with a pouring lip. Turn heat to medium-high.
- Next, combine all of the ingredients in the saucepan and heat while whisking regularly with the blending whisk.
- Bring the toffee mixture to a boil.
- Then, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 15-20 minutes while whisking.
- Continue to whisk the mixture while cooking to reach the correct thickness- it will need to be pretty thick.
- Finally, pour the toffee glaze into a jar or a measuring glass with a pouring lip and use a spatula to help scrape it all out of the pan. Let the glaze (and the cake) cool completely before pouring the glaze on top of the bundt cake.
Storing Homemade Toffee Glaze
To store homemade toffee glaze: pour any leftover glaze into an airtight container then transfer it to the refrigerator. The glaze will stay good in the fridge for up to 1 week. Before using the glaze again, remove it from the refrigerator and bring it to room temperature. To get a pourable consistency again, the glaze may need to be reheated. Once set on a bundt cake or pastry, the glaze will stay good for the life of the pastry that it is used on. Always mark the date on the outside of the container to keep up with freshness.

Recipe proportions are way off. This is too much cream by a mile. I cooked this for an hour and it never got thick. Wish I had looked for other recipes before trying this one because none of them have these proportions.

I am sorry to hear that the recipe did not work out as expected. It sounds frustrating. Thank you for pointing out the issue with the cream proportions. I will review the recipe and make the necessary adjustments to ensure better results.
