Constantly coming up with dinner plans night after night can sometimes become an almost daunting task for many parents. Even for those of us, like myself, who love cooking and baking up tasty treats to keep our families happy with full bellies. Sometimes we just need recipes that can be made easily and without a lot of time-consuming steps. For times like this, I like to keep a few easy side dish recipes on hand, like this quick and Easy Coleslaw!

That’s right, coleslaw doesn’t have to be one of those rare dishes that can only be enjoyed with a barbeque take-out order! My simple coleslaw recipe is incredibly easy to make right in your own kitchen and only requires a handful of tools and simple ingredients. Not only is this recipe perfect for a quick side dish on a busy weeknight, but it’s also a fantastic dish for me to serve for my family and friends that are vegetarian!

So, whether you need a simple and satisfying side dish to help you get through the week or you’re hosting the next grill cookout, you’ll definitely want to keep my easy coleslaw recipe in mind!

To make easy homemade coleslaw, all you need is: a package of coleslaw mix, mayonnaise, salt, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, some mixing bowls, a whisk, and a spatula. Just whisk together the mayonnaise, salt, vinegar, and brown sugar in a mixing bowl. Then, pour the dressing over the coleslaw mix in a separate large bowl. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.

    Easy Coleslaw Equipment

For this simple method, I only use a handful of common kitchen tools to whip up this little side dish in a flash! To make a quick batch of coleslaw the only tools I need are:

    • Glass mixing bowls
    • Blending whisk
    • Silicone Spatula

    Cool and Crisp Coleslaw Ingredients

As for the ingredient list, I only use a few simple ingredients to allow me to make this recipe as fast as possible, but still with a little touch of that homemade love mixed in. For the quickest and easiest coleslaw, here’s what I use:

    • 12 oz package of coleslaw mix

    For the Coleslaw Dressing:

    • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
    • 2 tbsp brown sugar – packed

How to Make Easy and Quick Coleslaw

Now I’ll go over my super quick and easy process for making a batch of yummy coleslaw in a hurry! This simple method has turned out to be fool-proof for me, so I’m excited to share how I make it happen:

    1. First, in a medium-size mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, vinegar, brown sugar, and salt with a blending whisk until completely mixed.
    2. Then, pour the dressing over the coleslaw mix in a large mixing bowl, and mix well with a spatula.
    3. Finally, cover the bowl and refrigerate the coleslaw for 30 minutes before serving.

    Safely Storing Coleslaw

To store homemade coleslaw: transfer the coleslaw to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days. Label the date on the outside of the container to keep up with freshness.
