One of the best things about chowing down on some scrumptious seafood is that, if it’s cooked just right, you almost feel like you’re sitting right on the beach! You can almost feel that ocean breeze on your face and it’s like a short yet divine daydream. And if there is one seafood treat that makes you feel like you are living the dream, it’s without a doubt a buttery, perfectly cooked lobster tail!

Something about taking a bite out of one of those buttery, fluffy lobster tails just makes you feel like you’re having a beach day wherever you happen to be at the time! But you don’t have to go to the beach or even to an upscale restaurant to enjoy these tasty treats. It’s actually really easy to cook some of these bad boys right at home.

However, there are certains steps to take to make sure that lobster tail meat comes out perfect and fluffy instead of dry, rubbery, and hard to pry from the cooked shell. To keep this heart-breaking tragedy from ever happening to you, I’m going to break down my simple step-by-step process for making irresistible Oven-Baked Lobster Tails!

To make perfect oven-baked lobster tails, all you need is: lobster tails, a lemon, butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, parsley, and some baking utensils. First, whisk together the butter, fresh lemon juice, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and parsley. Then, use some kitchen scissors to cut open the tops of the tail shells. Use a spoon to separate the shell from the meat and gently pull the meat out of the shell so that it sits on top. Then lay the lobster tails on a cooking rack that’s positioned on a foil-lined baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes at 450°F. Then, brush the lobster meat with the seasoned butter and bake for another 2 minutes. Serve and enjoy!

How to Make Perfect Oven-Baked Lobster Tails

Now let’s get to the fun part! This baked lobster process is super simple and easy to follow along with so making this recipe feels as smooth as a summer breeze on the beach! Make sure to follow all of my instructions so that you can end up with perfect lobster. Here’s how to make oven-baked lobster tails:

    1. First, prepare and measure out the lobster tail ingredients with the measuring spoons. Preheat the oven to 450°F.
    2. Next, in a medium mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, lemon juice, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and chopped parsley.
    3. Whisk the ingredients together completely.
    4. Then, lay the lobster tails out on a cutting board and grab some kitchen scissors.
    5. Use the scissors to cut across the top of one of the tail shells.
    6. Then, use a spoon to gently separate the meat from the shell.
    7. Use your hands to gently pull the meat from the inside of the shell so that it sits on top of the shell, but be sure to leave the very end of the meat attached to the tail. Crack and pull the sides of the shell while doing this to help release the meat.
    8. Repeat the process for the other lobster tail.
    9. Once you have both of the tails prepared with the meat pulled out and sitting on top of the shells, it’s time to cook!
    10. Next, line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and sit a cooking rack on top.
    11. Lay the prepared lobster tails on top of the cooking rack and bake them for 10 minutes.
    12. Then, grab the seasoned butter and a silicone brush.
      1. If the butter starts to harden while the lobsters cook, microwave it for 30 seconds at 50% power and stir before using.
    13. Brush the meat of the lobster tails generously with seasoned butter.
    14. Then, pop the tails back in the oven and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
    15. Finally, serve these scrumptious lobster tails over steamed asparagus and garnish with fresh lemon wedges.

    Storing Cooked Lobster Tail

Personally, I highly recommend eating any seafood the same day it’s cooked. However, cooked lobster tails can be stored in a shallow airtight container, or wrapped in plastic wrap, and be safely kept in the fridge for 2-3 days. Always label the date on the outside of the container to keep up with freshness.
