- Sifter
- Glass mixing bowl
- 1 Piping bag
- 8 Drinking jars
Hot Chocolate Mix Ingredients

- 2 cups powdered milk
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp Vanilla Powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup White Chocolate Chips
- 2 cup Mini marshmallows
How to Make Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix
And now it’s time for my favorite part: putting these adorable gift jars together! This kitchen activity is super easy and quick. It’s also a perfect family-friendly activity if you want to get the kiddos involved for some wholesome family fun. Here’s how to make homemade hot chocolate mix jars:
- First, gather up all of the hot cocoa mix ingredients.
- Next, position a sifter in a large glass mixing bowl.
- Then, pour the powdered milk, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla powder, and salt into the sifter and sift the ingredients together in the large bowl.
- Use a blending whisk to completely combine the ingredients together until fully incorporated.
- Then, gather the drinking jars and materials. Cut off the tip from a piping bag.
- Insert the piping bag into one of the jars and carefully scoop about ½ cup of hot cocoa mix into the jar using the piping bag as a funnel.
- Next, scoop some white chocolate chips on top of the hot cocoa mix.
- Then, top the cocoa mix and chips with the mini marshmallows.
- Close off the jar with a cute, decorative cloth and seal the jar lid.
- Finally, add gift tags and any final decorative touches to the jar and you’re ready to gift!
How to Prepare Homemade Hot Chocolate
- First, remove the lid and decorations from the jar of hot cocoa mix.
- Then, fill the jar by pouring either hot water or hot milk in with the mix.
- Mix with a spoon until everything in the hot chocolate mix dissolves.
- Serve and enjoy!
