First, set out all of the egg ingredients and fill a large mixing bowl with a lot of ice. Let it sit out while cooking the eggs so some of the ice can melt and create a nice cold ice bath.
Next, place an egg timer in the middle of a 6-quart cooking pot.
Gently place the eggs in the pot surrounding the timer.
Then, pour enough water into the pot to completely cover the eggs by at least 1 inch.
Bring the eggs to a boil over high heat.
Once the water is boiling, lower the heat to a medium setting.
Cook the eggs until the timer color indicates that the desired yolk consistency has been reached.
While the eggs are cooking, check the ice bath to make sure there’s plenty of cold water to cool the eggs. If needed, add more water so the eggs can be fully submerged.
Then, transfer the boiled eggs to the ice bath to stop them from cooking any more.
Let the eggs cool in the ice-cold water for 10 minutes.
Finally, scoop the eggs out, serve, and enjoy!
